Look, we're architects, not data miners. Your privacy matters to us as much as getting the right window placement. Here's the straightforward breakdown of how we handle your information.
When you reach out to us or start a project, we'll collect the basics - your name, email, phone number, and address. If we're designing something for you, we'll need site info, project details, maybe some photos of your space.
We also get some technical stuff automatically when you visit our site - IP address, browser type, which pages you looked at. It's pretty standard website analytics, nothing creepy. We use it to understand if people are actually finding what they need on our site or if we need to redesign the nav (ironic, right?).
Pretty straightforward - we use your information to design your project, communicate with you, send invoices, and keep everything documented. Architecture involves a lot of back-and-forth, so expect emails, calls, and the occasional "can you clarify this?" message.
We might send you updates about our studio or showcase completed projects (with your permission, of course). If you're on our mailing list and decide you've seen enough renders for a lifetime, you can unsubscribe anytime.
We'll also use it for legal stuff - contracts, permits, building code submissions. That's just part of getting things built properly in Toronto.
We don't sell your data. Period. That's not our business model.
We do share project info with the people who need it - contractors, engineers, city officials for permits, consultants working on your project. That's just how construction works. Everyone needs to be on the same page, literally.
Sometimes we use third-party services - email providers, cloud storage for drawings, accounting software. They have access to whatever info is necessary to do their job, and they're bound by their own privacy policies.
If required by law or to protect someone's safety, we'll disclose information to authorities. Hopefully that never comes up.
Yeah, we use cookies. Not the chocolate chip kind, unfortunately. These are small files that help our website remember you and work properly.
Some are essential - they keep you logged in or remember your preferences. Others help us understand how people use the site. You can disable them in your browser settings, but some parts of the site might not work as smoothly.
We use Google Analytics to see where our traffic comes from and what pages people actually look at. It's anonymized data, so we're not tracking you personally around the internet.
We take reasonable precautions to keep your data secure. Our systems use encryption, secure servers, and we limit who on our team can access sensitive information. Only people who actually need it for your project can see it.
That said, nothing's 100% foolproof on the internet. We do our best, but we can't guarantee absolute security. If there's ever a data breach affecting your info, we'll let you know ASAP and tell you what we're doing about it.
You've got options. You can ask us to see what information we have about you, request corrections if something's wrong, or ask us to delete your data (though we might need to keep some stuff for legal or contractual reasons).
Want to opt out of marketing emails? There's an unsubscribe link in every message. Or just shoot us an email and we'll take care of it.
If you're in certain jurisdictions, you might have additional rights under privacy laws like PIPEDA here in Canada. Just reach out and we'll walk you through it.
Project files? We keep those for quite a while - usually at least seven years after completion. That's partly for legal reasons (liability, potential warranty claims) and partly because clients sometimes come back years later asking for original drawings.
General inquiries and marketing contacts - if we haven't heard from you in a couple years and there's no active relationship, we'll typically clean out that data.
Financial records follow accounting standards and tax requirements, so those stick around as long as legally required.
Our website might link to other sites - suppliers, partners, inspiration boards. Once you click away from our site, this privacy policy doesn't apply anymore. We're not responsible for what those other sites do with your data, so check out their policies if you're concerned.
Our services aren't directed at kids under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from children. If you're a parent and think your kid's given us their info somehow, let us know and we'll delete it.
We might update this policy occasionally - new laws, changes to our practices, or just improvements to make things clearer. When we do, we'll update the date at the top and post the revised policy here.
For major changes, we'll probably send an email to let you know. Otherwise, checking back here now and then is a good idea if you're curious.
Got questions about this policy or how we handle your data? Just reach out. We'd rather you ask than worry.

We'll get back to you within a few business days, usually sooner. We're a small team, so sometimes we're buried in drawing revisions, but we'll respond as soon as we come up for air.
Bottom line: We collect what we need to do good work for you, we protect it reasonably well, we don't sell it, and you can ask us about it anytime. That's the whole story.
